Terms and Conditions

Clear terms for your electrical work.

Last updated: 14 October 2026

1. About these terms

Bromley Borough Electrical provides electrical installation, inspection, testing, repairs and maintenance across Bromley, Croydon and South London. These terms apply to our website and, when supplied before you accept a booking, to our services. Your written quotation and any specifically agreed terms form part of your agreement. Simply visiting this website does not create a booking.

2. Quotations and agreed work

Your quotation describes the work included, the price and any assumptions or exclusions. Its validity period is stated in the quotation. An estimate is an indication of likely cost rather than a fixed quotation. A booking is confirmed when we accept your instruction in writing. We will make clear whether VAT applies and show the total payable before you commit.

3. Additional work and existing faults

If we discover concealed defects or work outside the agreed scope, we will explain the findings and obtain your agreement to the additional work and price before proceeding. An inspection does not include remedial work unless expressly stated. Where an immediate danger is found, we will explain the action needed to make the installation safe.

4. Appointments and access

Please provide safe access to the property, consumer unit and relevant electrical points, and tell us about known hazards or access restrictions. Electrical testing and installation may require the supply to be isolated; please plan for interruptions. Any call-out, diagnostic or missed-access charge must be disclosed and agreed before booking. Tell us promptly if you need to rearrange an appointment.

5. Payment

The quotation or booking confirmation will set out when payment is due, including any deposit or stage payments. If no other arrangement is agreed, the balance is due within seven days of the invoice. We will agree any deposit before taking payment. Please contact us promptly about an invoice query so we can resolve it.

6. Cancellation and refunds

Where a statutory cooling-off right applies to a service contract made online, by phone or away from our business premises, you may cancel within 14 days after the day the contract is made, without giving a reason. Tell us clearly by email, phone or WhatsApp before the deadline. You may use the optional cancellation wording below. We will provide applicable cancellation information and a model form with your contract confirmation. If you cancel, payments will be refunded without undue delay and within 14 days of notification, subject to any lawful charge for work already performed.

7. Starting work during the cancellation period

If you want work to start during the cooling-off period, we will obtain your express request and explain the effect on your rights. If you then cancel, a proportionate charge for services performed may apply where the legal conditions are met. The cancellation right ends once the service has been fully performed only where you have expressly consented and acknowledged this in advance. A limited exception may apply to urgent repairs or maintenance you specifically request; additional services or goods may remain cancellable. Outside statutory cancellation rights, any cancellation charge must have been agreed and reflect reasonable losses, allowing for costs saved.

8. Workmanship and supplied products

We will carry out services with reasonable care and skill. We provide a 12-month workmanship warranty on electrical installation work, starting on completion. See our Workmanship Warranty page for coverage and how to report an issue. Manufacturer warranties apply subject to their own terms. A warranty does not replace or limit your statutory rights. Report a concern promptly, describing the problem and the work involved, so we can investigate and arrange an appropriate remedy.

9. Testing, reports and making good

Certificates and inspection reports describe the work or inspection undertaken and its recorded scope, limitations and findings. An EICR cannot guarantee that an installation will remain fault-free. We will confirm the expected document turnaround when booking. Chasing, plastering, decoration and other making-good work are included only where specified in the quotation.

10. Responsibility and liability

We are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot legally be excluded. Nothing in these terms restricts your statutory consumer rights.

11. Website use and external links

Use our website lawfully and do not attempt to interfere with its operation or gain unauthorised access. Obtain permission before reusing content except where the law permits it. External links are provided for convenience; the linked sites operate under their own terms. General website information does not replace an assessment of your installation.

12. Questions, complaints and updates

Contact us using the details below with your name, job address and a description of any concern. We will investigate and explain the proposed resolution. Updates to this page apply to future bookings; existing agreements are not changed without your agreement. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, without overriding any mandatory protections or court rights available to consumers.
